Disaster Relief

HEH is committed to helping the victims of disasters both domestically and internationally. In these times, HEH empowers churches and ministries to reach out to their communities and help not only the victims, but also the relief workers.

Over the years, HEH has empowered ministries to reach out in dozens of disasters. Well known events such as Hurricane Katrina, the tornadoes in Joplin and Alabama, and the earthquake in Haiti have all seen HEH in action. However, it’s not just the large events that receive our attention. We are committed to helping wherever there are ministries that are ready to take up the mantel and reach out.

With this great work comes a lot of cost. For each semi-truck load of food (about 42,000lbs), it costs about $5,000 to get that food from the donor to the disaster victims and relief workers. This is why we need individuals, churches, ministries, and organizations to partner with us to help our neighbors, both domestically and internationally, get aid in their time of need. It is through partnerships that we are going to make a difference in the lives of the needy and see the Kingdom of God advance!

One important aspect of disaster relief for people to remember is this: the time to procure food and drink products for a disaster is not after the disaster strikes when the emergency has already come. The time to procure is long before the disaster ever strikes so that there is no need to wait on funding in order to help the people that need it. HEH needs partnerships with individuals, churches, ministries, and organizations that understand this principle and would be willing to give on a regular basis now so that together, we can get aid to disaster victims with no delay.

We ask that you would consider giving financially towards disaster relief on a regular basis, well before the disasters strike. With hurricane season nearing, your giving will be vitally important.
