Gary Phillips of Blissfield, Michigan, established Hope & Encouragement for Humanity, Inc. or H.E.H. in 2003. After working with local and foreign missions for more than ten years, Gary realized that people everywhere lacked the basics of life; food, clothing and shelter. |
 |
But some great challenges stand in the way of meeting those needs. First, there was a lack of products to distribute. Second, there was a shortage of transportation to receive and distribute those products. Third, there weren't facilities available to store products for distribution. Finally, a network of likeminded partners has to be created.
As the owner of a trucking company for the past 25 years, Gary felt he could do more and decided to meet these challenges by utilizing his knowledge, experience and resources.
And, H.E.H. was born. |

As H.E.H. develops we are establishing relationships with other groups around the United States and the world. We work to provide them with the supplies they need to touch the lives of the people they encounter every day.
We are working to establish a network of food banks, missions, church groups and non-profit organizations.
Through this network, we serve people in Michigan and around the United States with food, clothing and other necessities. This ministry enables our partners to meet their spiritual needs. Missionaries in Haiti, Mexico, El Salvador, Venezuela, and Panama have all received shipments of food and clothing. These vital supplies help people in these areas to find a better life and experience a visible demonstration of Christ's love.

Disaster relief is another arm of H.E.H. We have provided over 100 loads of relief products to hurricane, floods and disaster victims across the country over the last 3 years. H.E.H. was also involved with tsunami relief in Sri Lanka in January of 2005. In 2008 H.E.H provided much needed relief to the victims of hurricanes Ike and Gustav. When ice storms created a great need in Arkansas H.E.H was there.

In 2003, Alaina and Kelly Hiatt, Gary and Lori's daughter and son-in-law's first child was born. Hope Elizabeth Hiatt was born into the arms of Jesus on July 14. H.E.H. not only honors Hope and the lives she touched in life, but also the lives she continues to touch.
At H.E.H our passion is to enable our partners to serve God's hurting and needy children. We are thankful of God's wonderful blessings!
